Emily Nelson is Studio 5’s new Fitness Contributor!
New season, new faces! This year, we are excited to bring on two fresh perspectives in the health and fitness field. Teaching us all about exercise and making fitness fun is Emily Nelson.
The first time Emily certified and taught a group fitness class, she knew it was where she was meant to be. She loves people, and loves helping them become the best person they can be. She has three children and a husband who allows her to do all the fun things she does! Her two daughters are 11 and seven, and her little boy is turning three. She has been a full-time-working-from-home-mom for seven years. It allows her to be where she needs to be and do what she needs to do, and somehow it all gets done!
Emily started in the fitness world 16 years ago. She was a dancer growing up, and she needed something to fill the void of what she loved. Group fitness did that. The class that she teaches is highly music based. She loves to put in her AirPods and listen to her playlist. At any given moment, you might find her in the bathroom or in the car with her hands going! It’s almost like her own form of meditation, but to music.
Emily has half of a G2G bar and a little bit of Bang energy drink before class. She says, “don’t judge, it’s just a little bit!” That is her recipe for success. Emily says that for her, movement is freeing. It puts you in a better mood and helps you be a better wife, mom, and friend. She is hoping to bring a fun outlook on fitness to Studio 5. She firmly believes there is something out there for everyone. Whether you love fitness or you don’t, there is something out there for you.
