Monte Cristo Hand Pies With French Blackberry Preserves


2 sheets Puff Pastry, slightly thawed
1/2 pound Black Forest Ham, sliced very thin.
1/3 pound Jarlsberg cheese, shredded
1 egg, beaten with a little water
Powdered sugar
Blackberry Preserves


On lightly floured board, gently roll out sheets of pastry.
Cut each each sheet into 4 equal portions.
Divide ham and cheese evenly on pastry, keeping to the center of the pastry.
Brush edges lightly with water and pinch to seal.
Brush tops of hand pies with egg wash.

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown.
Dust with powdered sugar and top with blackberry preserves.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
