New Springtime Family Traditions

Looks like a long spring is in store! So in the days before and after the Easter
Egg Hunt, Studio 5 rounded up some amazing ways to celebrate spring.

Chrissy Young with Macaroni Kid shares her personal recommendations.

The Petal Pusher
Linda Ashment
3075 W Gordon Ave
Layton

Load up your kids and your flower pots and go to The Pedal Pusher’s green
houses. Linda and her staff will help you plant your pots. She is an expert on
what flower combinations will look fabulous together. Your kids will love to
dig in the dirt and feel the accomplishment of creating their own beautiful
pot of flowers to enjoy all summer long. For a minimal fee she will “babysit’
your pots till it’s warm enough to bring them outside. Our kids loved this last
year!!! Our pots were gorgeous, we got so many compliments and people
wanted to know how they were so mature in May! We love to do it with our
sisters, our mom’s and our neighbors. They are such a fun gift to give on
Mother’s day. We love to go pick up our pots and to be greeted by bright
colorful summer flowers!

Harmon’s Cooking School
Station Park
Farmington
http://www.harmonsgrocery.com/cooking-school/

We love Chef Bob Bryant and his delicious recipes and wonderful cooking
tips!!!! His classes are great for date night, girls night or even entertaining
business clients. They have super fun kids cooking classes too.
Coming up on March 17th there is a Luck O’ the Irish Cupcake Class for kids
and their parents!! You will walk away with a dozen cupcakes when your
done.

Saturday, April 7th hop on your bikes and take your whole family on a bike
ride along the new path that runs through Layton, Kaysville and Farmington.
Have your destination be the monthly breakfast at Harmon’s. Following
breakfast is a magical hour featuring the Easter Bunny. ALL this for only
$3.95 per person!!!! The whole family will enjoy this Saturday morning
excursion!!!

DIY Flash Light Easter Egg Hunt
An Annual Favorite!!!

One of my families absolute favorite activities we do every Spring is a
Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. We have gone to all kinds of Easter Egg Hunts but
the one they LOVE and remember is the Night Time Hunt. This is something
that you could do with your neighbors or your family. You can have everyone
donate there own eggs and take your family to go hide all the eggs. Our
whole neighborhood comes and it’s a tradition that my family won’t miss.
Kids of all ages love this because the hunt is harder in the dark. Be that”cool
mom” in your neighborhood.

Party Essentials Plus:

Sandy, UT 84094
www.partyessentialsplus.com

Give your kids a gift certificate in their Easter Baskets to come in and stuff
their very own Easter bunny! Party Essentials Plus also offers fun toys and
favors to go in the kids Easter baskets.

Macaroni Kid loves Party Essentials Plus and her great parties.(This is a less
expensive alternative to Build a Bear!) Kids love to make the stuffed animals
and our moms love the price, it has been a great find for Macaroni Kid and
our parents.

Each party includes:
Each child’s choice of critter to stuff.
Each child’s choice of an outfit for their critter.
A favor bag of extra goodies for each child.
Decorated Party Room; including latex balloons.
Cute Animaland themed plates, napkins, and cups.
Party hosted for 1 1/2 hours
and best of all…………they clean up!!

Draper Historic Theater:
12366 South 900 East
Draper, UT 84020
www.drapertheatre.org

My family loves a night out at the Draper Historic Theater. If you don’t live in
the South Valley Area it would be worth the drive to come and visit our little
Theater. The theater is quaint and very intimate and the shows are all family
friendly. Everybody love a quality show for $5!! Young and old will love to
visit the heart of historic Draper and to be entertained by local talent. And
the evening isn’t complete without stopping at Iceberg for a GIANT shake! I
recommend chocolate banana malt!

Don’t miss their upcoming show of James and the Giant Peach.
One of Roald Dahl’s most beloved books comes to vivid life on the Draper
Historic Theater Stage. Young orphan James is sent to live with his horrible
Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker.
Life is hard until a mysterious stranger arrives. Suddenly, magic abounds and
James finds an ENORMOUS peach growing in his yard containing talking
insects – and his remarkable adventure begins!
