The planning is done! All you have to do is pick up a few things to execute an Olympic watch party.
It only happens once every four years, so our Olympic celebrations deserve to shine! Here’s a perfect set up to host a watch party for the Opening Ceremony.
Studio 5 Creative Contributor Michelle Crowley shared everything you need for an Olympic watch party, from games to décor to invitations.
The party is themed in world flags and the official Olympic colors of blue, yellow, black, green and red. Did you know the colors of the Olympic rings were selected because most world flags have at least one or two of these colors? Using world flags is a fun way to celebrate the unity that the worldwide Olympic Games are meant to inspire!

Entertainment
The Opening Ceremony will last about four hours, so plan to have other fun things going on. Michelle researched many Olympic topics, and we’ve created printables you can download. These can be printed as 16×20 posters to display or as small as 4×5.5 cards to pass around and share or to decorate a table.

Another fun trivia option is an online interactive game Michelle created. Everyone can compete against each other, all at the same time on their phones.
To play the game, click here. Everyone who wants to play needs an account – it’s simple and free to sign up.
Once you have an account, to play, everyone will go to https://www.crowd.live/H48S7. This allows everyone into the same game at the same time. The game is called “2024 Summer Olympics.” Keep track of who gets the most questions right and enjoy the friendly competition!
Note: The game is limited to one play per person.
Decorations
To honor the host city of Paris, decorate with the Eiffel Tower. They come in different sizes, from tiny to giant, like this one.
Table Runners
Make table runners from wide ribbon in the colors of the Olympic Rings.
Centerpieces
In keeping with the world flags and honoring all of the athletes who come together to compete from all over the world, Michelle created table centerpieces using international flags ordered from Amazon. Use the flags in place of flowers, or use an over-the-table rod to hang flags above the tables.

Centerpiece Flag Arrangements
Michelle also created arrangements using round glass vases. She added bands of the Olympic colors by adding colored electrical tape to the glass vases. Filled the vases with white pie weighs to hold the flags and then filled each with mounds of flags.

With all of these resources and ideas from Michelle, you’ll have the winning combination and be the MVP of the evening!
