Just a few simple steps will elevate your holiday makeup.
If you still have some holiday parties to hit this month, one of the best ways to look a little extra is by switching up your makeup routine.
Studio 5 Style & Beauty Contributor Megan Moore shared three quick ways to elevate your look and add some holiday glam.

Add a Little Glow
One of the easiest ways to add some glam to your holiday look is by adding a little glow to your face. “ I like to think of this as like that candlelight glow,” Megan said. Think of a gathering where the lights are low. You want to have that extra glow that can be seen even then. She recommended highlighting the inner corners of your eyes and the tops of your cheeks.
To achieve this look, Megan loves using a champagne-colored highlighter and a beauty balm. She emphasized the importance of choosing a warmer shade to avoid looking dated. “It just gives you a little bit of something, but it just feels a little bit more elevated than maybe what you’re wearing every single day.”
Double Up on Blush
For an elevated look, Megan suggested doubling up on blush. To pull off this technique, you use two different colors of blush: a darker shade on the apples of your cheeks, and a lighter, brighter shade behind it. This creates an ombre effect. “ It’s not only beautiful…. it’s also kind of a visual impact. It actually lifts the face,” Megan explained. “ So as we’re dealing with gravity in our lives, this is a great way to kind of pull and snatch that back.”
Megan recommended She Glam blushes for this technique. “Even though these colors look bright and kind of intimidating, they’re soft and they blend so easy,” she said.
Pop on the Lip
No holiday look is complete without a bold lip. Megan encouraged experimenting with colors beyond traditional red. “ A lot of people are very intimidated by a red lipstick and I totally agree. It does not have to be red,” she emphasized. She suggested trying a bright pink or coral something that is a bit bolder than your normal.
To make the bright color even less intimidating, she advised tapping the color in the center of your lips and blending it out with your finger. “ I don’t take the whole lipstick all the way to the edges because again, that feels intimidating,” Megan said.
Megan loves Maybelline’s Vinyl Ink for its staying power. “ They’re a great holiday option because you’re going to be drinking and eating… and these are going to stay put really well for you,” she emphasized.
