Rise Up! Here are 4 ways to prep an epic last minute Hamilton watch party

The day is almost here! Gather up the family for a freedom-packed Hamilton watch party.

By Lauren Tippetts

The day Hamilton lovers across the country have been waiting for is just 24 hours away. The hit musical is coming to Disney+! If you’re as excited as we are, get the Fourth of July weekend started with a Hamilton watch party. We’ve rounded up a couple quick ideas for you.

First of all, prime your joy for what’s coming tomorrow! Our favorite funny guy, Shaun Johnson, of the Johnson Files, posted this video to Instagram today. A few fan favorite Johnson Files characters make an appearance singing their version of “The Schuyler Sisters.” Shaun and Nicole promise another fun video is coming tomorrow!

Next up, decor. We know the day is upon us, you don’t have a lot of time to prep, but you can always go out and grab some balloons! They’re a quick and easy way to instantly add excitement to your space.

We drew some inspiration from a Hamilton themed birthday party from Catch My Party. Go for basic black and gold, or make a big statement and pull out the number balloons!

I Am Not Throwing Away My Shot

Stretch the fun throughout the whole day! Kelli over at Kelli Plans It All threw a Hamilton themed birthday party last year for her son, Aiden, and the whole event was perfection! We zeroed in on some of her genius activities. The kids played Musical Colonies, Pin the Crown on King George, and topped it all off with a water gun duel outside. Find the full details on Kelli’s post.

Brooker’s Founding Flavors

Next you need a menu. Or in this case, ice cream! If you haven’t been to Brooker’s Founding Flavors yet, here is your wake up call. The ice cream is homemade, and it is above 16% butterfat with a mix of custard. Know what that means? It’s A. MAZE. ING! Located in Vineyard and Provo, this ice cream shop has a colonial theme to their atmosphere, and their menu!

One of their most popular flavors is called “Alexander Hamilton’s Not Throwing Away My Scoop.”

Brooker’s Founding Flavors

A Hamilton watch party wouldn’t be complete without its namesake flavor! For the release on July 3, Brooker’s is giving away pints of this scrumptious ice cream every hour!

Brooker’s “only uses fresh, natural dairy products to make [their] ice cream. The local Utah family dairies [they] get [their] all natural cream and milk from do not use artificial growth hormones. The cream and milk are also antibiotic free, cold separated, and low temperature pasteurized, all of which preserves its rich flavor and nutrition.” Find them on Instagram, @brookersfoundingflavors or at www.brookersicecream.com.

So in the words of Hamilton, we’re “runnin’ with the Sons of Liberty, and [we’re] lovin’ it!” While you’re out and about, pick up some patriotic ice cream, balloons, and enjoy a night of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
