Safe, Reliable Online Student Resource

Shauna Jensen Instructional Technology Specialist for Granite School District shares a one-stop website that is a great resource for student research.

Pioneer, is Utah’s Online Library. It provides electronic information and resources to students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Utah including:

• Encyclopedias

• World Alamanac

• Newspapers

• Magazines

• Professional Journals

• Government Documents

• Maps, Charts, and Graphs

• Audio and Video Clips

Pioneer’s Online Library can be accessed at http://pioneer-library.org/. Students can access this website at their K-12 Schools, Public Libraries, Colleges & Universities as well as at home. Home use requires a user name and password which students can get while at school or from a public librarian.

Pioneer Library is an excellent web resource for research since it is free, does not contain any inappropriate web sites, is accessible to all Utah citizens 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provides credible resources with high quality content that is updated daily. Pioneer is made possible through support from the Utah State Legislature, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Utah Education Network.
