Go south for Spring Break! Southern Utah is spring break headquarters for thousands each year from the Wasatch Front, Idaho, Wyoming and other reaches of the Intermountain area. Here are four great destinations to check out this year.

St. George – Utah’s most popular spring break destination. Located only four hours south of Salt Lake City in the southwest corner of the state, St. George is known for its mild winters and warm comfortable spring weather. This is where the Wasatch snowbirds flock. Things to do – golfing, hiking, rock climbing, canyoneering, off-road jeep and ATV tours, mountain biking, sun bathing, outdoor concerts, swimming. Sights to see – Snow Canyon State Park, Red Cliffs Recreation Area, rock art, dinosaur fossils, Tuacahn Amphitheater.

Moab – Utah’s recreation crown jewel and epicenter to adventure! Located 3 ½ hours southeast of Salt Lake City. Well-known for slick rock mountain bike trails, river rafting, and 4×4 adventures. Things to do – hiking, mountain biking, jeep, Hummer and ATV tours, Colorado River rafting and jet boat rides, canyoneering, fishing, horseback riding, photo safaris. Sights to see – Arches National Park, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point, Slickrock trail, rock art, Colorado riverway.

Springdale – Gateway to Zion National Park located four hours south of Salt Lake City. Springdale is an eclectic gathering of shops, restaurants, galleries and hotels and small inns. Located right at the entrance to Zion National Park, Springdale is a living postcard with 360 degree views. Things to do – 4×4 jeep and ATV tours, hiking, photography, canyoneering, biking, river tubing, horseback trail rides, Zion Canyon Big Screen Theater. Sights to see – Gateway to the Narrows, Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, Checker Board Mesa, Angles Landing, photo and art galleries, Zion Canyon Treasure of the Gods movie.

Brian Head – Southern Utah’s premier mountain resort located 3 ½ hours from Salt Lake City and only 12 miles from the town of Parowan. Brian Head extended the ski season to April 18 due to the phenomenal snow conditions this year. More than just skiing! Brian Head is a year-round mountain resort situated high atop the Markagunt Plateau next to Cedar Breaks National Monument. Things to do – downhill ski, snowboard, cross-country ski and snowshoe, get a spa treatment and relax. Check out the Easter and Spring Carnival on April 3 – 11 with Easter egg hunt, dummy jumping, pond skimming, mountain bike race on snow and much more.
