Style File: Mint Green

It’s a pretty color to look at, but a difficult color to wear.

Fashion blogger Rachel Parcell gives us a color crash course on mint green.

1. Pair Mint with a Neutral

Pair a chambray top (we all have one in our closets) with a mint green pencil skirt. It’s an no brainer look with an added twist because of the mint hue that’s added.

2. Pair Mint with a Neon

Because mint is such a light and airy color, it can easily act as a neutral to create balance when paired with a bold neon.

3. Monochrome Mint

Mint is a statement – but a subtle one. It’s one of those colors you can pull off from head-to-toe. Just make sure the shades are of similar tones, and in the same color family.

4. Accessorize

One of my favorite ways to style with mint is with accessories. A pointy toe pump offers a classic silhouette that can be worn season to season. Ankle strap pumps are one of the hottest shoe trends right now, can be dressed up or down, and elongates your leg for a sexy style. And don’t overlook the summer sandal – and easy, every day wear that can be paired with a day dress, shorts or jeans.

As far as jewelry goes, consider a mint bracelet or necklace for a dainty, delicate splash of color. I’m also a fan of a mint bag – a clutch, day bag or beach tote.
