Super Bowl XL Dips

Cheese Bread Bowl
1 bread soup bowl
1 1/2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup shredded Colby or Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup cooked crumbled bacon
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
Sliced baguette

Preheat oven to 3750 F. Cut top from bread bowl and remove bread from center. Save removed bread for dipping later. Place hollowed out bread bowl on baking sheet.

Mix together cheeses, mayonnaise, bacon, and garlic powder to taste. Place filling in hollowed out bread bowl. Place top back on bowl. Bake 25 minutes, remove bread lid, stir cheese; bake uncovered 20 minutes longer. Serve warm using cheese knives to remove cheese from bowl. Serve on chunks of bread or on slices of baguette bread.

Chipotle Pepper Dip
1 teaspoon chipotle pepper sauce
2 cartons (8 oz ea) low-fat plain yogurt
1/2 cup chunky salsa
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Combine pepper sauce, yogurt, salsa, and chopped cilantro; mix until blended. Refrigerate to blend flavors.

Sprinkle with shredded cheese and serve with assorted cut vegetables or taco chips.
