Teachers are doing drive-by parades for their students, and we can’t get enough!

These drive-by parades are quickly becoming our favorite part of 2020.

As teachers settle in to this new normal, teaching kids through the screen, there are a lot of changes to get used to. Teachers are missing their students, and kids are missing their teachers, so a unique solution emerged. Teachers across the state are getting in their cars and driving through neighborhoods, waving to their students.

We asked teachers and faculty at Sam Morgan Elementary in Kaysville to give us an inside peek at a parade they recently organized to show their students some love from a “safe distance.” With decorated cars and horns honking, this is quickly becoming the best trend we have seen all year. Teachers are reporting misty eyes, and kids are saying “it made my day!”
