The Twine Takeover

The Twine Takeover

As Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music expressed so well: we all love brown paper packages tied up in string. But lately, a familiar fiber is wrapping up all sorts of projects.

Blogger April Meeker shows why twine is taking over the craft world right now.

Baker’s twine is hot, hot, hot right now! Its popularity seems to have coincided with the “junk crafting” movement. People began to look around their homes to see what they could repurpose and use to create projects with a vintage feel.

There are several online companies making baker’s twine for crafting. The Twinery (www.thetwinery.com) produces luxury baker’s twine that is a little thicker and stronger than most. Today, twine comes in just about every color imaginable. A spool of twine usually costs between twelve and fifteen dollars and lasts a long time.

Baker’s twine has become a crafting staple. It’s versatility has made it one of the most popular crafting products available today.
