Display a pretty print of watercolor fall florals you paint yourself!
Bring the beauty of fall inside and put it on your wall. With a few simple painting techniques and a few basic supplies, you can paint fall florals that will last far beyond the season.
Shelly Cluff shares a watercolor process that is attainable for every level of artistry.
Shelly says to paint florals, you should start with your focal point flower and build around it. To keep your painting loose and playful, you can create both petals and leaves with one brushstroke. To fill in flower centers, you can use the scumbling technique, which builds a textured, layered surface to create depth.
Once a piece is dry, you can use a pen to draw in detail or outlines.
Shelly says part of the fun of watercolor is that it’s a very quick medium that is easy to fit into the nooks and crannies of life. Watercolor is easy to learn and fun to experiment with.
