Chocolate ‘dirt’, worms, pudding and whipping cream to create a creepy crawly dessert!
Worm Cups
1 bag crushed chocolate cookies
1 small bag gummy worms
1 batch chocolate cream pudding
1 batch Ultra Gel Whipping Cream
In see through plastic or glass cups layer crushed chocolate ‘dirt’, worms, pudding and whipping cream to create a creepy crawly dessert!
Chocolate Cream Pudding
¾ c. sugar
1/3 cup dark cocoa
5 Tbl Thick Gel (8 Tbl Ultra Gel)
½ tsp salt
3 c. milk (Can substitute soy milk or almond milk, just increase thickener by 1 Tbl)
2 egg yolks
½ tsp vanilla
¼ cup butter
Combine sugar, Thick Gel and salt in a medium saucepan. Stir in milk until smooth and cook over medium heat to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir egg yolks just until blended. Add a small amount of hot milk mixture to egg yolks, stirring constantly, then gradually add egg yolk mixture to hot mixture, stirring well. Return to heat and bring almost to a boil. Do not allow to boil as scorching may occur. Stir in vanilla and butter.
Pour into glass bowl and cover with plastic wrap lightly touching the surface to prevent skin. Refrigerate until serving.
Puddings made with Thick Gel or Ultra Gel have less sugar and no preservatives or artificial colors. As well they stay good in the fridge for upto a week without weeping or thinning.
Ultra Gel Whipping Cream
1 pint whipping cream
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 t Ultra Gel
1/2 t vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, beat cream to form very soft peaks. Gradually add powdered sugar, Ultra Gel and vanilla and whip to soft peaks. Store in refrigerator where it will stay thick for upto a week! Never use oil based whipped toppings again.
