It’s now easy to go back in time 160 years to the early days of Utah’s history. A new store has just opened that highlights the time period when Mormon Pioneers first arrived in Utah.

If you have ever been interested in learning a little bit more about the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints’ culture and history, a great place to start is at Zions Mercantile Co., which is located in The Shops at Riverwoods. Zions Mercantile Co. carries several products including artifacts from Nauvoo, Illinois including temple stones, a Nauvoo legion uniform and an antique clock, replicas of Porter Rockwell guns, Nauvoo legion guns, Books of Mormon, Salt Lake Temple dedication tickets and life-size handcarts, leather-bound books, trek caps, bonnets, aprons, journals, dishes, candles and gift ware. The store will soon be carrying handmade quilts and homemade bread with honey butter as well.
Zions Mercantile Co. even has an art gallery inside where its employees share with shoppers the stories and history associated with each work of art. Most of Zions’ employees have either lived in Nauvoo, Illinois for a period of time or have visited, and they can offer great travel advice and tips for anyone who is interested in traveling there.
