Chocolate Pecan Pie

2 pre-made deep dish 8″ pie shells, thawed
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter
pinch of salt
1 pound whole, shelled pecans
1/2 pound chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

Combine all of the above, except for pecans and chocolate chips, in a mixing bowl on medium speed until well blended. Add pecans and chocolate chips and stir by hand until incorporated. Pour into pie shell and cook for 45 – 50 minutes on the bottom rack of the oven.

Serve with fresh whipped cream or ice cream.
