Get in Shape with Planet Fitness

2012 is here! It’s the time for resolutions, and what better resolution is there
than deciding to get in shape for 2012?

Keith Larsen from Planet Fitness visited Studio 5 today to share some of the
most important reasons joining a gym is the best way to get in shape for the
New Year.


“One of the main advantages to working out in a gym is the huge variety of
equipment that you will have access to. Equipment can be very expensive,
and to build a gym or workout room in your home with all of the machines
and equipment you would be interested in could cost a small fortune. But
when you join a gym, you have access to all of the machines and equipment
you would ever need, and it would all be included in your monthly
membership fee,” said Larsen. “Aside from the cost efficiency aspect of
joining a gym, you will also be able to work with trainers, professionals and
instructors who can show you how to use the equipment properly. This will
not only help you stay safe, but it will assure that you get the best workout
possible. You also don’t have to deal with the distractions in a gym that you
would have at home. Whether it is the telephone ringing or kids running
around, it can be hard to keep your motivation when working out at home. At
a gym, you can keep the focus on your workout. You will also be surrounded
by many people who share the same interest or goal as you. It is a great way
to meet new people.”

According to Larsen, there are many reasons people give for not exercising.
“I often hear people say that they are too tired, too busy, they don’t have
enough energy, they can’t afford a membership or they are simply too
insecure about how they look to go workout at a gym,” says Larsen. “But
people don’t realize that working out gives you more energy and makes you
feel better all around. It will help you to lose weight and improve your overall
health. Our membership fee is just $10 a month. And any amount of exercise
is better than none. So whether you are working out for two hours a day or
20 minutes a day, just getting some sort of physical activity in is what is
important.”

“There is no better time to begin working out than at the start of the New
year,” says Larsen. “The New Year brings a fresh start for all of us. It is a
clean slate, and you can begin your workouts in the right frame of mind. No
day is better than today.”
