We loved hearing what’s on Lizzy Jensen’s mind.
Good girl talk isn’t just about surface conversations. It’s open, honest, and real. That’s the heart of a Studio 5 series we call, “On My Mind,” where we invite women you know and admire to share what they’ve been thinking about.
This month’s guest is known for her ability to connect and uplift women. Lizzy Jensen is a mom of five, and a champion of living with intention. She’s the host of the podcast, “Lean in with Lizzy,” where she shares inspiration to create a life you love. She’s the ultimate cheerleader, and believes it’s her calling to believe in and root for other women.
Lean in with Lizzy: The Journey to Podcasting
In her podcast, “Lean In With Lizzy,” Lizzy aims to create an open, honest, and real conversation space for women. She decided to start her podcast just a few months ago. Despite having experience in blogging and online work, she found podcasting offered a unique opportunity to connect with women in a deeper, more meaningful way. “Podcasting gives you the ability to go deep. You can talk for an hour, not just get a quick quip or a social media bite,” she explained.
A Platform for Women’s Stories
Lizzy’s mission is not only to share her own thoughts but also to provide a platform for other women to tell their stories. She feels honored to share stories that might otherwise go unheard, believing that “we need more women’s stories.” Her goal is to give her audience more courage and confidence, encouraging women to lean into their passions. Lizzy emphasized, “Every woman does [have impact].”
On Lizzy’s Mind Professionally: Leading Goals with Feelings
Lizzy shared her approach to New Year’s resolutions in the new year, focusing on feelings rather than actions. She found that thinking about how she wanted to feel in the new year, rather than what she wanted to do, led to more meaningful goals. For example, instead of focusing on loosing weight, focus on the feeling you’re trying to achieve. A feeling of good health, strength, and power. This approach is backed by research and will be the focus of an upcoming podcast episode, offering a fresh perspective on goal-setting. “Sure enough, there’s so much research on leading our goals with feelings rather than things that we should do,” she noted.
On Lizzy’s Mind Personally: Warm Welcomes
On a personal note, Lizzy talked about the concept of “warm welcomes.” She realized the importance of starting interactions on a positive note, especially with close relationships. This practice has added a sweetness to her relationships, both with family and others. A touching moment came when a wallpaper installer appreciated her for always starting their conversations with a warm greeting, showing the broader impact of her thoughtful approach. “Whenever you text me instead of just leading in with the job you have that you want me to do, you say hey, how are you? And I just want you to know that it actually makes a big difference and it means something to me,” he said.
Lizzy’s podcast, “Lean In With Lizzy,” aims to empower and inspire women through honest and heartfelt conversations. You can find it on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
