Volunteering with Girl Scouts

Sheila Srivastava is a volunteer with Girl Scouts and explains how everyone benefits.

Girl Scouts is a volunteer-based, volunteer-driven organization. More than 3,500 Utah adult volunteers devote their talents, time and energy to support Girl Scouting in their communities. Positive adult role models guide and support girls grades K-12 as they grow in confidence and take on leadership roles.

Girl Scouts impacts girl’s lives, but men and women who volunteer with us are also changed by the experience. There are flexible options available to fit busy schedules. Troop leaders determine how often they meet; every 2 weeks, once a month or only for special events. It’s totally up to you!

You can volunteer for a few weeks and share your passion and knowledge about the environment, science, music or whatever it is you love to do. You don’t have to be a parent to volunteer.

You can get started in 3 easy steps:

o Step 1: Complete new volunteer paperwork.
Criminal background check required. Annual    membership fee is $12.

o Step 2: Complete a short online orientation.

o Step 3: Meet with the Girl Scout representative in    your area.
You’ll get the tools and information you    need and continued support is provided as you    jump start your troop.

Today’s Girl Scouts are Tomorrow’s Successful Women. Join us in shaping the women leaders of tomorrow.
