encanto party

Welcome to the family! This Encanto party is full of Madrigal magic

Kids obsessed with the latest Disney release? Throw an Encanto party!

If you’re anything like Brooke Walker’s family, you have the songs, and the movie, on repeat! One Cedar City mom was thrilled when her daughter requested an Encanto party for her 5th birthday. But she panicked a little when she couldn’t find reference to any Encanto-themed party, anywhere. So she got creative and used what she had on hand to throw the part her little girl dreamed of.

Alex Obering shares how  to use things you already have and repurpose them to save time and money. “I always save my party supplies because I end up reusing stuff all the time,” says Alex. She shares us how to make a door backdrop, like the door in the movie. It’s perfect for taking photos for the special day.

Cute Ideas for a Magical Encanto Party

Alex came up with some clever games going along with the movie theme. “I wanted to do a few fun things but not spend a ton of money or time! Five-year-olds needed quick activities. We created different stations and I had a lot of adults helping so that they could rotate around and move at their own pace.”

They had a strength game where the kids could take turns lifting a power wheels jeep, just like Luisa in Encanto.

She let them decorate Mirabel’s miracle candle and Abuela’s casita. Then they created floral beards and headbands.

Alex has a lot of tips for making party prep inexpensive and simple. But she suggests splurging on one thing that’s important to you. Alex chose to have some Encanto cookies made.
