Cruisin’ the Boulevard “Coats For Kids”

If you’re looking for a fun summer outing with the kids this weekend, look no further! The annual “Cruisin’ the Boulevard” charitable event is a fun family event for a good cause. Wendel Burt and Chris Simonsen explain the purpose behind this fun car show.

“Cruisin’ the Boulevard Coats for Kids” is a charitable event sponsored by the Bountiful Rotary Club. This year marks the 13th anniversary of this event dedicated to aiding our local children.

Elementary school Principals in cooperation with the teachers and the PTA identify children in need of winter clothing from the Bountiful area schools. Once a child is identified, the principal presents a voucher to the parents. With the voucher, the child and parents can go to the Woods Cross K-Mart Store and pick out a new coat, boots and mittens.

Since our first Car Show in 1998 over 3500 children have received new winter coats, boots and mittens.

While the Car show is open and free to the public, all that attend Friday Night and Saturday can help raise money for “Coats for Kids” by:

• Come to the event and eat, play and spend money. It all goes to the kids!
• Making a Generous Tax Deductable donation to “Coats For Kids”.
• Purchasing Kids bucks to enter games, activities and prize drawings.
• All Car Show entry Fees go to support the “Kids”.
• Become a “Coat for Kids” Car Show Sponsor.

The Cruisin’ the Boulevard “Coats For Kids” event is June 17 & 18 at Historic Main Street in Bountiful. The car show begins at 6:00 pm on Friday night. For more information visit: www.bountifulcruisin.com.
