zipped pouch

If you can sew a straight line, you can make a zipped pouch! Here’s the easy tutorial…

Making your own zipped pouch is easier than you think.

Bags inside of bags. It’s a thing, right? We all like to be organized, and when the bags are cute, total bonus! You can never have too many, and you can sew your own.

Don’t let the concept scare you away – Kristin Baird says its easier than you think… and if you can sew a straight line, you can make your own zippered pouches!

Basic Instructions

1. Prep the zipper for a more polished look (cut to size and add tabs, use a polyester zipper)

2. Add any embellishments/pockets (I usually add little ribbon pulls to make opening/closing the pouch a little easier)

3. Make a sandwich – shell, zipper, lining (this is the main key to keeping it simple, sew the lining and the shell to the zipper at the same time)

4. Open zipper and sew right sides together and any pleats or boxed corners

5. Turn right side out, close opening in lining and DONE!
