The trio of marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker always has a place at the campfire, but we’re making noise about a new recipe for your 4th of July gathering. It’s all-American apple pie – plus a red and blue flavor too.

Patriotic Bonfire Hand Pies
Party set up
- Small or large croissants
- Fresh Strawberry Filling
- Fresh Blueberry Filling
- Cheesecake Crumble
- Butter Marzipan Crumble
- Vanilla Buttercream Icing
Equipment
- Campfire/ Bonfire
- Aluminum foil
- Roasting Sticks
- Solo Bonfire 2.0
Fresh Blueberry Filling
INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup cold water
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 4 cups fresh blueberries
- Sprinkle of salt
METHOD
- In a medium sized bowl, place 3 cups of berries. Set aside.
- Place sugar and cornstarch into blender pour in cold water, lemon juice, 1 cup of the berries, and blend until smooth.
- Pour into saucepan and over medium heat, cook until bubbly, and thick stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Pour over berries and stir to coat.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve, or serve warm if desired.
- Makes approximately 1 quart
