Printable Parties

Studio 5 Party, Holiday & Ideas Contributor Alisa Bangerter says you can download and print all of your party supplies from your home computer!

Have a computer and a printer? Then you have the perfect tools to create quick and easy paper party décor without ever leaving your home. There are many online resources available to help you create coordinated party items that will make your celebrations a hit!

Paper and Cake:
Paper and Cake is one of my very favorite party printable sites and a great resource. It has a huge variety of coordinated printable party options in many themes from holidays to birthdays, to dinner parties to showers, etc. New parties are regularly added. Each downloadable party comes with a huge list of items (fun banners, straw flags, bottle wraps, treat holders, party hats, thank you notes, etc.) each unique to the specific party. Paper and Cake has a classy blog with ideas you may wish to check out as well. It is so hard to choose favorites from all of their parties but I really like the vintage-inspired Lemonade Party and I love, love, love the Gothic Halloween Party printables!

The Posh Event:
If you love the classic black and white look paired with the so popular damask pattern you will absolutely love this site. The Posh Event offers coordinating items for lovely invitations, place cards, creative favor boxes and much more (make sure to check out the really unique Damask Butterfly Place Cards). Dress up these items with different colors and you have a whole new look. Perfect for a wedding, shower, classy birthday, etc.

Paper Glitter:
Paper Glitter offers some really fun party printables with a touch of whimsy. There are a lot of options and with the holidays coming up make sure to check out the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas parties. There are cute kids party themes and my personal favorite is the Paris Party Kit (comes in birthday or non-birthday). It is adorable and would be great for a girlfriend luncheon. Check out the blog for creative ideas and inspiration using their printables.

Tips for Perfect Printables

" There are endless options for party-type printables you can download from the internet. Some are free and some you purchase and the pdf files are sent to you for download. Some sites offer single items such as invitations or cupcake toppers and some offer complete coordinated theme packages with everything from invitations to centerpieces. Etsy is a great place to find printables - there are a lot of talented people who design items and sell them there. Do an internet search using keywords such as "printable party items or paper party printables" and you will find thousands of options.

" Before printing, double check your ink to make sure you have enough to print the pages you need.

" Adjust and change your settings on your printer according to the paper you are using.

" Try printing on light or heavy cardstock or photo paper. You will get different looks with each.

" Some items may be printed using an outline setting to help save ink and won't change the finished look of the item. This won't work for all items.

" Make sure to use the correct size of printer paper to correspond to the item(s) you will be printing.

" If the printables allow you to do personalization before printing, make sure to type the information and save before printing. (Some printables won't allow you to personalize yourself but the site offering them will personalize them for you - often with an extra fee.)

" Print a sample or test print to make sure the color is what you want and no adjustments need to be made to computer settings.

" Use a craft knife, mat and a straight edge ruler for easy cutting items that have straight edges.

" Be creative with embellishments. Printed items can be made dimensional and a lot of pizazz added by using glitter, buttons, ribbons and trims, pom poms, jewels, beads, twine, net, etc. Just be creative when adding embellishments and match to the party theme and colors.
