Saltwater Buttercream Frosting

The glossy look of royal frosting we often see might be beat by the better taste of buttercream.

Georganne Bell shares the best way to decorate with buttercream.
Saltwater Buttercream
1 Tablespoon warm water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter (room temperature if at all possible)
2 teaspoons vanilla
5-6 cups powdered sugar

Dissolve the salt in the water and set aside. Cream butter and 4 cups of powdered sugar together in a mixing bowl until they are well blended. Add the saltwater and vanilla and mix well. Add the remaining powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until the butter cream is as thick as you want it to be. Whip on high speed for 2-3 minutes.
